Quito to Banos
The second day at the Otavalo market was nice, but not nearly as busy as Saturday. We finished up our shopping and headed back to Quito in the mid afternoon to make it back before dark. Our plan was really just to stay the night in Quito before heading to Banos the next morning. Since we will be returning to Quito to fly out, we were able to leave our purchase a at the hostel in Quito.
The trip to Banos was only 3 hours and we ended up getting there in the early afternoon. The first impression of the town was very nice. It is a smaller town that is on the edge of the jungle and surrounded by mountains. We spent the evening wandering around as you can walk to most areas in town. We ended up booking a white water rafting trip for the next day to maximize our time there.
